(More customer reviews)First a qualifier: I own the predecessor to the Urbano model - the Leggenda.On other web sites, Lamborghini calls the Urbano model the successor to the Leggenda and from all appearances, they are very similar.I therefore thought my comments would be helpful.
My wife got me the Leggenda for Christmas (2008), but I have only recently had a chance to ride it enough to write an intelligent review.The bike looks great. it required a modest amount of assembly - after I figured out that the first set of instructions I found in the box were for a completely different bike.The single sheet I finally noticed that did pertain to my bike was adequate for doing the job.
My first experiences riding the bike were quite frustrating: in the first three rides on the bike, I had three flat tires!Since I'd been procrastinating about getting back in shape anyway, this was enough to keep me from really getting serious about using the bike for months.The solution was to buy some inexpensive wheel linings that prevent sharp edges inside the wheels from puncturing the inner tubes.(I ran accross this solution on a web site written bySchwinn owner who was having the same problem.)I've not yet taken any kind of serious spill, so I can't comment as to the strength of the fork or frame when its "under duress".
Now that I'm riding the bike, it has been a mostly positive experience.The shifting is easy, though it tends to slip between the sprockets for the two most difficult gears in back - it doesn't reliably stay on the smallest (most difficult) sprocket.I live in a fairly flat town, so having 21 gears is definitely overkill for me.The bike weighs in at about 31 pounds, which isn't all that light.(I'm not complaining - realistically, the most overweight component on this bike is the rider, who could stand to lose 20 - 30 pounds!)The ride is easy and smooth - I am matching speeds I used to get 15 years ago when I cycled to work every day and I'm only modestly pushing myself.Overall, I am quite satisfied and mystified as to why anyone other than a seriously competitive cyclist would pay as much as 10 times more for a bike that may be better, but hardly worth shelling out thousands of dollars for.If you are a weekend warrior or a even regular commuter who isn't otherwise completely engrossed in cycling, I'd recommend that you consider this bike seriously.
