(More customer reviews)A self-sealing tube sounds like a good idea, but the blue goop inside the tube only protects the part of the tube behind the tire tread, I think because of centrifugal force. So any thorn or other hazard hitting the sidewall is not protected against. This in itself is not bad since without a sealant there would be no protection. Second, I try to balance my bike wheels, but the goop inside seems to flow inside the tube so that the tire might be in balance in one position and out in another. Third, When riding, I sense the wheel wobbling and theorize it may be the goop inside. (Getting regular tubes helped this.) Fourth, if air seeps out of the valve stem--as it may when you remove the tire pump fitting, the goop flows back through the valve core and seals the valve. When I finally decided I had had it with the tubes, the only way I could get the air out of one so I could remove the tire was to break off the stem. When I removed the valve core from the other tube, the air came out so I could remove the wheel. Then I squeezed at least an eighth of a cup of blue goop out. My new tubes are basic model at under $4. Easy to fill with air, and I carry a patch kit which you need anyway.
