(More customer reviews)Got this to replace training wheels on 16" and 20" bikes when the big day came.No problems at all, easy install with a 14mm wrench (to connect to the bike) and Phillips-head screwdriver (to adjust length).Two installs, two happy girls who can now balance and ride their bikes like pros.
The spring-loaded mechanism works fine and seems to hold up well (so far--this isn't a long-term review).The size and length are appropriate for children's bikes.The 16" bike has the adjustment at the shortest length, while the 20" is extended 4 holes (about 30% longer than the small bike).The price is right.
Complaints?The stand could probably be more solid than it is, but it's a little of a blessing in disguise as it's easy for the girls to kick up and down, even barefoot.If there's anything I would change, it's that the stand portion is a bit too vertical (maybe 5 or 10 degrees).The bikes, when stood up, are a little "tippier" than I remember from when I was a kid.By no means a deal breaker.
For training wheel replacement on 16" and larger bikes I would recommend this kickstand.
