InStep Take 2 Double Bicycle Trailer Review

InStep Take 2 Double Bicycle Trailer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
THE GOOD: Set up is simple (even right out of the box), built quality is good on the frame, wheels are smooth, enough room for my 2 and 4 year old boys along with cargo space in the back. Average weight based on competitors, the covers since tight with straps (avoiding fabric flap in the wind). The trailer pulls well, I notice a little bit of push-pull when riding at slow speeds, but nothing that will bother anyone IMO. At speeds above 15mph (less than 20mph), the trailer handles just fine. The only time I really felt it is going uphill. The point of connection is well thought out and works with disc brakes.

THE BAD: Fabric material is not good. In fact, I think it will begin to rip in the near future (less than 1 year). I've owned this for a couple of months now, and am starting to see signs of wear in the foot area. Getting kids in/out means unsnapping half the canopy (no zippers). My major problem are the restraint straps. They are pretty bad, very thin and no padding. Both my kids get neck marks from the straps (chafing). I used automobile shoulder belt cushions to try and solve the problem, but the fit isn't quite there and they slide down, exposing the thin straps to their necks again.

I'm considering a Burley or Chariot to make the kids more comfortable. Also, I can get rid of our jogger and have a "Do-it-all" carrier. As for the InSTEP Take 2, you really do get what you pay for. However, if you're on a budget and want to take the kids for a spin, this will get you started.Good luck.

this product SUCKS! if you are buying this to match ANY gold parts on your bike DO NOT BUY!!! this brake lever in the picture looks to be gold (yellow gold) but however it is NOT! it is almost completely orange with a bit of metallic to make it appear gold. not what i wanted at all, the picture clearly shows a gold that is very yellow not very orange. I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

Mongoose Butterfly Summer Girls' Bike (12-Inch Wheels) Review

Mongoose Butterfly Summer Girls' Bike
Average Reviews:

This is a very different bike than what most stores are selling. I love that it is blue and purple, and not the usual pink! It was easy to put together, but there was NO instructions. My daughter LOVES the baby seat on the back. And the bag on the front is perfect for putting her baby bottles in. I would recommend this to any parent who feels they are about to o.d. on pink!! It is still very girly, but it doesn't look like a copy of what all the other little girls in the neighborhood are riding. A+ item, and wonderful shipping........Thank you for reading, and have a blessed day.

About Mongoose
In 1974, BMX Products, Inc., later to be known as Mongoose Bicycles, launched from a humble garage. The first of its kind, the BMX bicycle was named after bicycle motocross and was designed to fit the needs of the rough-and-tumble dirt-racing pastime that took its toll on wheels and bicycles. The heavy-duty, one-piece cast-aluminum Mongoose Motomag wheel was soon born, and it was the first competition-ready BMX bicycle available. Skip Hess, while in Australia pursuing his motor sports passion, came into contact with a strange and unusual cat-size animal--the mongoose. Known for its passive nature while unprovoked, yet vicious and aggressive enough to kill a threatening Cobra twice its size, the Mongoose impressed Hess, who quickly registered the Mongoose trademark for his new bicycle racing frame.
The Expert BMX bicycle model, which is still a cornerstone of the Mongoose BMX line today, was introduced in 1980. Shortly after, Mongoose captured the first ever ABA National #1 Cruiser Title. Previously known for the 20-inch bicycle, this title signaled the re-direction of Mongoose bicycles to larger-wheeled, adult-sized models. Several years later, Mongoose continues to dominate the cruiser racing circuit with six National No. 1 Cruiser titles, leading to the introduction of adult-sized Mongoose all-terrain bicycles (ATBs).
In 1992, Mongoose pioneered the full-suspension market with the introduction of the Amplifier. This design is still the most-copied suspension design in the market. Several year later, Mongoose launched the Newman adult bicycle frame, which is proven to be 15% stronger than any other bike frame in the market. The design, while functionally sound, also raised eyebrows because of its distinctive look.
In the next few years, Mongoose increased its marketing focus to dominate the bicycle industry, and more important, extend beyond it. The Mongoose brand marketing initiative makes more than 100 million impressions. Mongoose's brand awareness increased by over 130% in 1999 and solidifies the No. 2 market share position in units and dollars. Mongoose was acquired by Pacific Cycle, LLC, and continues to grow and prosper with more than 40 models of BMX, mountain, trail, freestyle, jumping, comfort, road, and cyclocross bikes.

Inline Boxed Tube 26" x 2.125" PV Review

Great cheap tubes. Stock up on them from the internet and save.

They are long lasting, fairly thick rubber, good valve, take patches well if you get thorn flats.

Be sure and check your valve type when ordering. Schrader is the kind like a car has, and Presta is the little bitty European style with the lockring and valve exposed.

If you use presta tubes, get the Inline shrader adapter in case you have to use a car inflator. They are brass and $1-2.

The box says Inline. The tubes inside are branded Kenda and made in Taiwan. In my experience, that indicates better quality than ones from China.

It's a great deal.

I replaced the rim and freewheel on my Peugeot orient express. The other freewheel was a 14-32 and it made speed quite difficult. Four teeth makes a huge difference. It increased my average speed by about 5 mph.
